Deck Beams
As progress on WHIRLWIND II continues, James and Jerry install the sheer clamps and deck frame in accordance with measurements taken from SENAD. Departures from original construction include the incorporation of an outboard motor well, localized reinforcement around the mast, and the use of glass-reinforced plastic for the rudder tube. The next steps will be the plywood deck with laid cypress overlay, toe rails, and laminated cherry coamings.
