Fairing, Glassing & Ballast
Once the planking has been faired with long battens, hand planes and sanding boards, the hull is sheathed in 1708 bi-axial fiberglass cloth set in epoxy resin. After glassing, the 500 lb lead ballast shoe is installed on the bottom of the keel.
